 Frequently Asked Questions

  • We’re ready to book! How do we go about doing that?
    After looking through our portfolio on our website and Instagram, please send us an inquiry through the contact us tab or click on the book online tab you can find on our website. We respond within 24-48 hours, Monday - Friday. We offer in-person or over-the-phone consultations to discuss the booking if need be. All portrait and event sessions require a 65% non-refundable retainer fee for date reservation and to book your session. The remaining balance is sent via invoice and is due before your session.
  • Do you travel?
    Without a doubt! Our travels have taken us to places such as Antigua and Barbuda, St Lucia, Lagos and Northern Ireland. We can travel to any country to cover events and portraits; the cost will be included in the Quote. You can also pay the price out of pocket if you'd also prefer. Travel is included within 50 miles of the Halifax Regional Municipality. Travel fees apply to any location outside of that area.
  • How much are travel fees?
    After 50miles of travel a fee of $0.65km applies. Travel fees will be determined at the time of inquiry. In some cases, overnight accommodations may be needed which is an additional expense
  • Do you deliver raw photos?
    We do not deliver raw images; all the images you receive will be high-resolution. Jpg files. We will edit every photo you receive to ensure consistency in colours, brightness, and mood in a manner reflective of our style. RAW files can be sent to you upon request and would be charged separately, including the hard drive and shipment cost.
  • When will my photos be ready? What if I want my photos edited faster?
    For most events and portrait sessions, the photos should be ready within 2-3 weeks unless specified in the contract. Each service has a set turnaround time; however, images that require stricter and speedier deliveries can be expedited by adding rush edit fees to your order. Rush edit fees can be added at an additional cost and vary based on the service.
  • Do we provide videography/other services ?
    We do not, as we specialize in photography.   • What are Print Credits?
    Our Clients can use Print Credit on the online store attached to your online gallery. The store includes many items, such as Canvases, Cards, Prints, Photo Albums, and much more!
  • How do we receive our photos?
    When the editing is complete, we upload the images to a Pixieset online gallery and send them to you via email. You can share the link with friends and family so that they can view your photos. You can also download the whole gallery to your computer. The images are stored online for thirty days, but we will also mail you the pictures on a USB as a backup if it was included in your selected package.
  • Do you work in teams?
    Our photographers are available in teams or individually, based on the size, scope and budget of your event or portrait needs. We would love to talk more with you to create the best experience for you.
  • What happens if you can't make it to our event?
    This would only happen if it were out of our control (an act of God, illness, death, etc.), but in that instance, we would make every effort to assist in locating a replacement team that we trust and that has a similar approach.
  • What is the rescheduling policy?
    We understand that life happens, and some things can be out of your control, such as illnesses or unexpected life events. Please get in touch with us as early as possible via email at if there is a need to reschedule your portrait session for personal reasons; we can discuss options that align with our availability. As for the weather, I monitor it throughout the week. I will get in touch the day before your session to reschedule if necessary. Outdoor mini-sessions are only rescheduled for weather reasons like rain, snow or severe winds. Indoor mini-sessions are never rescheduled.
  • What is the best time of day to Schedule Portrait shoots?
    Outdoors: Lighting is best for glowy photos within 2 hours of sunrise or sunset. Midday light can be harsh, bright and shadowy. Indoors: The best time to schedule would be in the afternoon to get bright light from the windows. Night: Any time after dusk, we use a combination of on-camera or off-camera flash and light stands.
